Team India to accept 14 days quarantine to play in Australia

Due to coronavirus pandemic, everything is on hold and so sports are also. More than 50% population of the world is under lockdown and closed in their homes due to convid-19. But for the upcoming tour of India to Australia in Dec 2020 team, India is ready for 14 days quarantine. India is due to play 4 Tests and three ODI’s in December and January. The Indian team management agreed to lock themselves down for two weeks earlier than the cricket series begins.

Recently in a media interview Board of Control for Cricket in India treasurer, Arun Dhumal said that team has to make some sacrifice to play one of the waited for the Ind Vs Aus series. India’s tour of Australia is financial value someplace around 300 million dollars which is huge.

Dhumal also mentioned “There is no choice everyone will have to do that. You would want to resume cricket. Two weeks is not that long a lockdown. That would be ideal for any sportsman because when you are in quarantine for such a long period, then going to another country and having a two-week lockdown would be a good thing to do. We’ll have to see what the norms are posted this lockdown,”.

As per the planned schedule, India is due to play 4 Tests matches and 3 ODI’s matches with 2 T20 matches in December 2020 and January 2021. Now it totally depends upon the final call by BCCI as well as the host Australia cricket board.
